A Living Manifesto

The Heart of Awakening Eden

A quiet invitation to remember who we are, why we are here, and the world we are choosing to grow together.

We believe a more beautiful world is not just something we wait for.

It is something we grow—from within, through love, through community, and together as one family of life.
A person sitting cross-legged in meditation beneath a sun, with a rose heart at the chest, a seed at the belly, roots reaching down into the twelve-fold Lotus of Life, a flowering lotus and water below, and a hummingbird nearby
Inner and outer regeneration, held together.
Welcome home

If you found your way here...

Welcome. Whether you are planting your first seed, restoring a piece of land, searching for hope, dreaming of a food forest, or simply feeling called to reconnect with something deeper, you belong here.

Awakening Eden is not simply a website, a business or a collection of guides. It is a living invitation: to remember, to reconnect, to regenerate and to grow together.

Why we exist

Inspire means in-spirit.

To inspire is to lift the spirit — with the light of love, regeneration, practical solutions, beauty, courage and community.

There is no shortage of information in the world. Yet many people still feel disconnected from nature, from community, from purpose, and sometimes even from themselves.

We believe the answers we seek are not found only in more information. They are found through relationship: with the Earth, with one another, with our own hearts, and with the simple act of planting, observing, caring and sharing.

Awakening Eden exists to help nurture those relationships. Not by telling people what to think, but by walking beside them as they discover their own path and their own unique way of serving life.

Why “Awakening Eden”?

The blueprint is already within.

Every seed already carries the blueprint of the forest it can become. In much the same way, we believe every person carries an inner capacity for wisdom, compassion, creativity and stewardship.

Our role is not to give people something they do not already possess. Our role is to help create the conditions where those qualities can flourish. Like a healthy forest, life knows how to grow when given the right conditions.

Remembering

Remembering is not only recalling information. It is becoming whole again. Remembering that we belong to the Earth. Remembering that hope is practical. Remembering that healing the land and healing ourselves are not separate journeys.

Perhaps Eden is not a place we lost. Perhaps it is a way of living we can choose again — every day.

Our journey

From travelling the world to planting roots.

Nearly ten years ago, at the age of twenty-five, Benjy left Germany with a backpack, an open heart and a deep curiosity about how people could live in greater harmony with the Earth.

What began as a journey across Asia and Australia slowly became a lifelong education. He immersed himself in regenerative agriculture, syntropic farming, permaculture, agroforestry, yoga, meditation and community living. He volunteered on farms, lived in retreat centres, planted trees in degraded landscapes, restored ecosystems, and learned from regenerative farmers, biodynamic growers, Indigenous communities, educators and countless people devoted to caring for life.

Meanwhile, Sofia, the same age, left Colombia to follow a similar inner calling. Her path led her to Australia, where she deepened her love for yoga, natural healing, holistic living, movement, community and practices that reconnect people with themselves and the living Earth.

Our paths crossed in the small tropical town of Mission Beach in Queensland, Australia. What began as a meeting became a shared vision.

Portugal became the place where Awakening Eden began to take root as an independent living expression of everything we had been learning, practising and dreaming for nearly a decade. Different homes, gardens, farms, retreats and land projects helped clarify the same thread: regeneration becomes real when knowledge, care, community and practical action meet.

We did not travel the world looking for somewhere to escape to. We travelled to learn how to help places — and people — come alive again.

The Awakening Eden Way

Every piece we create should...

Nourish the mind
Open the heart
Empower the hands
Inspire practical action
Build community
Honour the living world
The Awakening Eden Way compass: nourish the mind, open the heart, empower the hands, inspire practical action, build community and honour the living world, arranged around a seedling and the words life first
Six values, one north star: leave every person, place, project and community a little more alive. The same compass guides inner, ecological and community regeneration. It is a way of deciding, not a purity test — begin where you are and choose one living next step.

The filter

Before publishing anything, we ask: Is it true? Is it kind? Is it practical? Is it beautiful? Is it welcoming? Does it help someone take one meaningful step?

If yes, it belongs. If not, we keep refining.

A living invitation

You do not need to change the world overnight.

1
Read one guide.
Begin with one practical piece of wisdom.
2
Watch one inspiring film.
Let a story restore your hope.
3
Plant one seed.
In a pot, a garden, a field, or someone’s heart.
4
Share one act of kindness.
Small steps become big ripples.
5
Return and keep growing.
Regeneration is a practice, not a performance.
Our hope for your journey here

Whatever brings you here, you are welcome.

Perhaps you are here to learn about breathing techniques, yoga, holistic living or connecting deeply with nature.

Perhaps you are dreaming of planting a food forest, transforming your garden, restoring a farm, designing your property, building healthier soil, or taking your first small step towards regeneration.

Perhaps you are longing to sit together in sacred circle in nature — sharing authentically, vulnerably, joyfully, silently, wildly, softly, exactly as you are.

Come as you are. Take what nourishes you. Leave something beautiful behind. Then keep growing.

Your gifts are welcome. Your questions are welcome. Your curiosity, your joy, your uncertainty, your story, your pain, your purpose and your passions are welcome. We believe diversity is one of nature’s greatest strengths — and the same is true for humanity.

Every person carries something unique that the world has never seen before. Awakening Eden exists to help you remember that your life, your care and your small actions matter.

Sacred and silly

Wisdom does not always arrive wearing serious clothes.

We believe learning can be joyful, healing can be playful, and transformation does not require perfection.

Some days regeneration looks like planting a food forest. Some days it looks like laughing around a compost pile. Some days it looks like meditating at sunrise, singing to seeds, crying beneath a tree, dancing barefoot after rain, or celebrating the first tomato like excited children.

We love the deep, the prepared, the mystical, the hermetic, the spiritual and the beautifully practical. We also love the puppy-like, childlike, wonderfully silly parts of being alive.

Our way

The world does not need more people pretending to have it all figured out. It needs more people willing to be authentic, raw, present, kind, creative, playful, perfectly imperfect and learning in public.

We hope this Living Library feels less like a classroom and more like walking through a beautiful garden with good friends.

What we are growing toward

Five seeds, in the ground and still ahead of us.

We are not waiting for a beautiful future to arrive. We are learning how to grow it — within ourselves, in the places we touch, and together with others.

1
Share what helps.
Keep growing the Living Library, guides, films and field notes into a trusted, accessible home for positive change — from overwhelm, to understanding, to one meaningful next action. This exists now.
2
Regenerate land and daily life.
Help people build healthier relationships with the places they live: living soil, water-wise landscapes, orchard restoration, food forests, syntropic agroforestry, biodiversity and circular biomass — alongside yoga, breath, nervous-system care and embodiment. This is our daily work.
3
Turn care into collective action.
Make room for people who want to act together, not only read: community days, workshops, shared projects, and constructive, evidence-led participation in the places we live. We are beginning this.
4
Create living demonstration projects.
Central Portugal pilots that make regeneration visible and measurable — tired orchards and depleted ground becoming diverse, resilient living systems, documented honestly from baseline to follow-up. This is what we are working toward next.
5
Grow places that embody the future.
In time, and with others: land that becomes both a rooted home and base for us, and a regenerative learning and healing place — food forests, abundant gardens, outdoor learning, spaces for yoga and gathering, and ecological livelihoods. This is a long-term hope, not a place that exists.

Being straight about this

Steps four and five would need partners, collaboration, land and funding we do not yet have. We will not describe a future centre as though it already exists, and we will not blur a shared public benefit with our own home. If a real land or funding model ever takes shape, we will name its ownership and finances plainly, so anyone considering support knows exactly what they are supporting.

The point is not a perfect utopia behind a gate. It is transparent, evolving living examples that people can learn from, contribute to and adapt where they are.

A gift economy

Receive freely. Gift back if you can.

Everything you find here is shared with an open heart because we believe knowledge, hope and practical regeneration should be accessible.

If these guides, videos, songs, stories or resources nourish your journey, and you are in a position to support us, your gift helps this Living Library continue to grow.

Your support helps us create more courses, videos, field guides, photos, workshops, circles and practical regenerative resources — and helps us keep researching the longer-term vision of regenerative learning landscapes, community, animal care and a future village or centre with clear stewardship, honest governance and the right aligned partners.

If money is not available right now, please take what nourishes you and pass the ripple onward.

Our north star

We are not building a library of information.

We are cultivating a forest of transformation.

Knowledge becomes wisdom when it is lived. Wisdom becomes regeneration when it is shared. Regeneration becomes culture when communities embody it together.

From the hearts of people, to the heart of the Earth, and onward into the greater web of life — every seed planted, ecosystem restored, child inspired, guide shared and courageous first step becomes something far greater than any one of us could create alone.

A blessing

May this Living Library nourish your mind, inspire your heart, empower your hands and strengthen your hope.

May you leave every place, every person, every project and every piece of land a little more alive than you found it.

This is you.

You arrived as a seed of curiosity. As you learn, practise, share and care, that seed becomes roots, branches, blossoms, fruit and a living shelter for others.

May the Tree of Life grow through you — one breath, one seed, one act of love at a time.
